Great article.

As in any business, it is critical to have the right systems and processes - therefore using a built for purpose accounting system can save, time, money and hassle. Many accounting systems do not fit a retail business, and the information is forced into the system - mainly because most accounting systems are built for service and manufacturing businesses where sales are made on credit and processed through a sales ledger.

Within retail, it is important to automate as much as possible as there is a high volume of transactions and you include the cash difference, sales per category etc - it is always recommended that you integrated your POS/BOS with your general ledger online retail accounting system.

This article might be of interest to anyone looking to increase the efficiently of their retail accounting department
