Mumbai Gets Its First Hermes Store

Hermes has finally, finally come to Mumbai. The luxury French brand was to come to the city in early 2011, but the store launch was pushed back because “permissions were not secured in time”. Instead, Hermes opened shop in Pune in January.
But we’re assuming Hermes’ permission problems have been sorted, because the brand has opened its stand-alone store at 15A, Horniman Circle in Fort, Mumbai on Monday. The store, which stands near the Asiatic Library , happens to be located at the Point Zero, from where all distances in Mumbai are measured.

Luxury in Mumbai

Spread across two floors and 3,000sqft in one of Fort’s iconic Victorian buildings, the Hermes store stocks everything from the brand’s iconic scarves to perfumes, jewellery, watches, leather and ready-to-wear.

Also, about 1,600sqft of floor space has been carved out for exhibitions. According to the Hermes press release, photographs by ace snapper Karen Knorr will be on display till mid-September.
