Marks & Spencer opens new store in Chennai

Marks & Spencer Reliance India opened its brand new store at Express Avenue Mall, Chennai. The opening of this bigger store is a step further in expanding the presence of Marks & Spencer in India. Spread over 20,000 sq. ft. and covering two floors, the latest Marks & Spencer store will offer an extensive range of apparel across womenswear, menswear, kidswear and lingerie, as well as beauty products, footwear, books and toys.

The store also features a range of high-quality home products. Speaking on the occasion, Martin Jones, CEO, Marks & Spencer Reliance India said: ‘It is a pleasure to launch our new, bigger store in Chennai. We will now be able to offer our customers the full range of clothing and home products at great prices.” He added, “Marks & Spencer has an unrivalled reputation for offering quality products at great prices, including a growing number of products sourced from local Indian suppliers.”

The store showcases the latest Spring/Summer’10 collection comprising menswear, womenswear, kidswear and lingerie. The women’s range features both ultra-feminine and military trends, with multiple styles to choose from. Vintage lingerie looks provide the inspiration, but the modern twist comes from new technologies and comfortable, lightweight fabrics. A wide range of lingerie includes shapewear, maternity and sports bras, angel bras and memory foam bras. The new store also showcases the newly launched Indigo collection for young women. Indigo will group together with casual wear pieces, along with the existing Limited & Per Una collections.

Menswear focusses is on luxurious essentials and designs to combine casual and formal pieces at great prices. The Autograph collection for men is characterized by a modern attitude of dressing, offering a choice of contemporary looks across formal and casual wear. The Blue Harbour collection offers casual t-shirts, jeans, linen shirt sand trousers for the cool, comfortable look.

Marks & Spencer Reliance India Pvt Ltd is a joint venture formed in April 2008 between Marks & Spencer and Reliance Retail. The company operates 17 stores in India including the new store at Express Avenue Mall, Chennai.
