Bharti Retail Appoints Andrew Levermore as Chief Operating Officer
Bharti Retail, a fully owned subsidiary of Bharti Enterprises, announced today that it has appointed Andrew Levermore as the Chief Operating Officer. Levermore will join Bharti Retail in July 2010 and will lead the operations for easyday and easyday Market stores across India. He will be instrumental in taking forward the Company’s mission of Enabling India to Live Better.

Andrew Levermore has over 28 years of rich global experience in the retail industry – both in luxury and value retail. Prior to being appointed by Bharti Retail, he was the Director of Stores for Woolworths in South Africa and was responsible for over 400 stores of varying formats across the country. Prior to Woolsworths, Andrew was the CEO of HyperCity Retail where he was at the helm of affairs right from the conception stage.
On the appointment, Mr. Rajan Bharti Mittal, Vice Chairman and Managing Director Bharti Enterprises said, “We are delighted to have Andrew Levermore on board. Andrew began his retail career with the Edcon Group in South Africa and progressed to divisional management level before moving to the UK to join the House of Fraser where he had various General Management roles. Andrew has also been Managing Director of Guys & Girls, and Managing Director of The Hub, a department store chain and Sheet Street a home-ware chain, both in South Africa. Prior to joining K. Raheja Corp., Andrew had a senior management responsibility in buying and merchandise management with Makro, South Africa.
Andrew is extremely well traveled and has sourced products from most parts of the world. He is married and has three children.
